I directed and co-created a new webseries called “Serious Business” with Rob Asaro & Nick Freeman. We’re really proud. It follows two roommates in Brooklyn with big ideas to change their lives around. Unfortunately, they’re terrible at ideas…

We”re also running a twitter campaign with a new personalized pitch video sent to a celebrity every weekday in April. It’s a lot of comedy and it’s pretty amazing.

I wrote and directed this spot for Google with assistance from the fantastic production company HOPR. My first foray into stop motion with VFX. Very fun and marvelous work from the HOPR team.

Very excited to be in 2013, so let’s kick this off by recapping right away.

2012 was a year of fewer videos than 2011, but bigger projects. I directed 32 total videos in 12 months. A few highlights include:

- Combining my love of senior citizens, puppets, and ‘getting crunk’ into the Lil Jon “Drink” music video,
- which racked up 200,000 hits in the first 72 hours. Dirty South represented? Check.
- Google’s ‘Introducing Nexus 7′ spot received 2 million hits in the first 96 hours.
- Worked with live turkeys and NFL Legend Vinny Testaverde for Wild Turkey Bourbon.
- First animated spot with “A Google A Day” on Google+.
- Received the Visionary Award for Directing at The Big Vision Awards 2012, which was delightful.
- Got to meet and direct/co-write comedy interviews with ?uestlove AND Jacques Pepin.
- Taught the internet how to draw a penis.

It’s been a great year (some of which my mom can be proud of), and I’m very excited to be in 2013. New Year’s resolutions include: a.) writing (2) screenplays and b.) boogie more. I think I can do these. Let’s get busy, y’all.

I wrote and directed this spot for Wild Turkey Bourbon, kicking off their football challenge this Thanksgiving. It’s a riveting story of football and triumph…and turkeys.

This was a really satisfying project, excited to see it out in the world. Special thanks to Will Beckley for cinematography, Shawn Annabel for production design, and Made To Feel for music.

(BONUS DIRECTING FACT: Turkeys are not very focused. They are turkeys.)

Just directed this instructional short with the always classy Alexander Barrett. I think it was a great use of our Tuesday night. Hopefully, you’ll learn something.

2011 was a lot of fun with a lot of wonderful opportunities, including several big branded content campaigns, a few creative milestones, and a LOT of physical videos.

I directed a total of 64 videos and edited 21 videos in 2011, including:

- two branded web campaigns for Captain Morgan, totaling 13 videos and which included the official YouTube page being wrapped exclusively for the campaign.
- Google “Developer Stories” spot featured on Creativity-Online.com
- Documentary premiere “Everything Is Going To Be Alright” at the CMJ Festival in October 2011.

It was a great year, and 2012 has already proven to be more significant (even halfway thru), with bigger, stranger projects. I can’t wait for the rest of this year.

Google just announced a brand-new 7″ tablet called Nexus 7. I directed the launch video introducing it to the world. Been fun playing with a secret product for the last few weeks. And I gotta tell you, it’s a pretty awesome size. Check it out.

I was just received the Visionary Award for directing, at the Big Vision Awards 2012 by the organization Big Vision Empty Wallet, as a representative of the membership who’s done a lot with often little money.

It was a wonderful night with a lot of gratitude, and I am still touched to have been included along fellow honorees Whit Stillman, Matt Pinfield, Jacqueline Gonzales, Ken Davenpor & Miri Ben-Ari, and presenter Roberta Flack.

After a couple of years working as a quizmaster in Colorado with Geeks Who Drink pub quizzes, I’m glad to put my knowledge of trivia games to very goofy use.

I had a good time writing and co-directing my first all-animated spot. Animation by Matt Brant, Character Design by Ignacio Hinojosa.

I directed this interview/comedy piece with ?uestlove of the Roots and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon a few weeks ago for Google. He was down for all of our goofy ideas and super nice to work with. And for your information, his fried chicken is AMAZING. Find his food truck when you can.
