I’m shooting again this year with 826NYC’s summer filmmaker series for kids, this year with the high schoolers. Last year I shot and directed with the middle schoolers on a kung-fu film written and starring 10-year-olds. The action film. It was the highlight of last year’s screening. This year, with the high schoolers, we’re shooting a drama centering on underground illegal dance battles. That’s right: the dance film.

And somehow, amazingly, I’m now directing my third project in a row involving children and breakdancing. The universe must really want me to perfect this style.

The finished project, “Danger Is A Baby”, will be screening @ the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) on Wed, August 26th, 2009 (conveniently on 8/26 - get it?) along with the two other short films of the summer: a fantasy trope, and a horror/western (I’M NOT KIDDING). Mark it on your calendars.
