Just took a short personal trip to Colorado…to meet a girl. This is a gal that I met once about six or so months ago at the Geeks Who Drink pub quiz that I used to host at Catacombs Bar in Boulder. I met her, thought she was totally hypnotic, but she left before I could ask if she was single and all I had was her name. Well, months pass, I move to New York, and then get friended by someone from that team on facebook. I recognize her name thru their friends list, and decided to send her a message because, hey, I have nothing to lose.

Well, she remembers me, we get to talking and find out that we have a ton in common. So our short e-mails turn into really long ones about our lives and family, and within a little while she offers her phone number. So we start talking on the phone, then skype, and then decide we probably should see each other again and see if there really is anything there in real space. So I get a plane ticket. And I just got back on Wednesday and I’m totally crazy about her. It was amazing, she is amazing, and now I’ve got a new girlfriend with whom we’re now navigating a long-distance relationship. Which is super new for me. She’s even farther away now, doing a tour of Japan for five weeks, before returning to the States and now we’re playing the calendar game for when we’re going to see each other again. Pretty exciting though.

I’m smitten. You can write it on the subway walls. But use water-soluable paint, please. Anything else is just not environmentally sound.

Winky-face,
Ballard
