Two weeks ago, I directed the music video for Kristin Andreassen’s “Crayola Doesn’t Make A Color For Your Eyes” with twenty-three 2nd graders at the Conservatory Charter School in Brighton, MA. The directing highlight of ‘09 so far was switching the CD for playback before a take and having 20 kids breakdancing to Public Enemy’s “Fight The Power” while my cinematographer Will Beckley and I hung off a dolly shooting kids popping handstands in slo-mo. A-MA-ZING.
It’s gonna be the best video I’ve directed so far, and I feel like I leveled up as a director. I’ve got enough experience points to buy in for more constitution.
Also I’m 27 years old now. Happy Birthday to me. Time to make a goddamn feature, I guess.
