This Sunday I made calls to swing states for MoveOn.org to get people to help volunteer for the Obama campaign in Florida and Michigan. It was also the 10 year anniversary of MoveOn.org, but the big push was to contact 200,000 MoveOn.org members in battleground states and get as many of them as possible to get out on the street and help get Obama supporters registered, to the polls, and help educate everyone else.

MoveOn.org will be doing more of these drives, but you can do calls yourself to help out the Obama campaign FROM YOUR HOUSE, and the best part is that for those friends of mine that who live in NY and LA (two cities in states that are pretty unequivocally going Democratic) you can help get people on the ground IN BATTLEGROUND STATES WHERE IT REALLY MATTERS. This is huge, because it’ll actually make a difference. More than putting a sticker on your window in your already progressive neighborhood will do.

GO TO NEIGHBOR-TO-NEIGHBOR AT BARACKOBAMA.COM to start making calls tomorrow and do your part. Tonight I called about 45 numbers, over an hour or so, and spoke to some people. And I got a lot of answering machines. But the people I did speak to were excited and wanting to help, and this website will give you a script and walk you thru what to do. I’m gonna be calling more this week in Pennsylvania. And they’ll give you a state near you. This is where it matters.

So for those that are in on-the-fence or McCain supporting towns, put a goddamn sign in your yard and speak to all of your neighbors. And for those of you who want to help where it really matters, but didn’t know how to: BAM - NEIGHBOR-TO-NEIGHBOR AT BARACKOBAMA.COM.

Do it, so I won’t call your phone really late at night to harass YOU about volunteering personally.
