We’re in week 11 - the last two are all that’s left. I had a little bit of a challenge, traveling out of New York last week back to the South for my grandmother’s 80th birthday party. A great party in a VERY OLD, very spooky house that involved about one half of my entire family packed into the sea of strange rooms and me having to sleep on the upstairs’ kitchen floor one night. But I kept to the training in between there, having to double-up some workouts in order to make all of them.
Now I’m back on week 11, and stepped back up to running for cardio. I stressed out my legs, the week before last, still not ready for the impact of running. But I’ve already taken it light on Tuesday and I’m holding up well. Also the heaviest leg day lifting of the entire 12 week challenge. I’m trying to step up all of my workouts to the top here at the end. There’s only two more chances for everything before the finish line. Better push it hard.
That being said, I’m not sure if I’m going to hit all of my goals. For the 10 lb muscle gain - I think I’m just gonna cross that line at the last minute with the combined weight gain and fat drop. I weighed in at over 166 lbs. this morning. But for the one mile running, what with the calves and tendons still freaking out with the running, I’m taking it slow to avoid injury. And it might take just past the 12 weeks to hit it, since I’m aiming to take it safe over extreme pushing. I want to run more, but I know that preventing myself from injury is the real step to progress.
I’m researching what my next phase will be after this transformation. I don’t want to stop training, so I think I’m going to focus on stamina and work towards running more for the next three months. I’ll still be weight training, just not the same way and with the same intensity. A switch-up. Gotta keep the body guessing - it’s real good at catching on. And after those three months? Well, I think I’m gonna try yoga. And I think it’ll be good for the winter. A little stretchy, flexibility is something I haven’t had since grade school. I’ll look good all wobbly and gangly. Because lord knows that’s what yoga does to you. Real long wobbly arms. Oh, yeah.
