A few days ago I wrote that I was so concerned making sure that YOU got registered to vote and made it to the polls, that I was willing to find whatever voter registration information you needed and send it straight to you, so that you would have no excuse. Well, the Obama campaign has made it EVEN EASIER:
VOTE FOR CHANGE, one-stop voter registration.
I just did this, it took 3 minutes (literally), and prints out a .pdf file with all of your information already filled out in it, and all you got to do is put it in an envelope and drop on a stamp. This works for every state in the Union, INCLUDING making sure you get your absentee ballot if you happen to be somewhere other than where you’re currently registered, AND letting you know your polling place. It’s awesome.
DO IT. Register. Get it done today. My registration is in the mail, and I’m good. The window of opportunity to MAKE SURE you’re registered is closing and is different for every state. So hop right over there and do it now. Also find out if you can vote early in your state (you can’t in New York City, but very well may be able to elsewhere), and it’s a great idea. Not only are you ALREADY MOTHERFUCKING COVERED since you got your vote in there so you’ll know it’ll be counted, but you do your part to make sure the lines aren’t long on Election Day. Some people actually do walk away from voting, if the lines are huge, because they have families or jobs to get to. Make sure they have time to vote, by taking yourself out of that day altogether.
OR do your part on Election Day, by driving the elderly to the polls to vote for Obama, who otherwise might not be able to get there, OR police the polls in lower-income areas to make sure there are no harassments by anyone preventing people from voting. Everyone’s gotta help this time.
I’m manning an Obama phone bank on Sunday talking to people in swing states. Wanna help? Head to MY.BARACKOBAMA.COM/PAGE/CONTENT/ACTIONCENTER to join.
