I had the supreme pleasure recently of getting to direct American Treasure James Taylor a short musical comedy piece with Stephen Colbert for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, centering on Taylor’s classic song “You’ve Got A Friend”….but with lyrics more suited to an acquaintance from work.
Not surprisingly, he was an absolute gem and, as our live audience discovered, it’s pretty much just a total joy to watch James Taylor do about anything. Thanks to everyone involved for this super charming little slice of niceness.
It’s Hispanic & Latino Heritage Month! And even with all the strides that have been made for diversity across TV & film media in the past several years, Hispanic representation still leaves much to be desired.
Luckily, Late Show writer Felipe Torres Medina has a dirt-simple plan to fix that. Single-handedly, if needed.
